Senior Sessions- Frequently Asked Questions
Why isn't my login working?
If you are having issues with logging in, it may be due to your password case sensitivity. If you have not yet logged on and reset your password, it should be your Last Name, with capitalizations where necessary. Your unique username will be your STUDENT email address (xxxxxx@kernhigh.org).
How do I select my Yearbook Image?
While viewing your photos online, decide which one you would like to be sent over to the yearbook committee. A "three dot" icon will appear on the top right corner and you will click on that icon. You will then see "make primary yearbook selection." Once selecting that, it will come through our system and we will then be able to prepare that image to be sent over to the yearbook.
What session can be used for a Yearbook Image?
All of our sessions give you the opportunity to select one image to be put into your school's yearbook. This session must be done before the your school's deadline in order to meet yearbook requirements. Click here to view school yearbook deadlines.
I'm not seeing the Session Type I want when trying to book.
If all sessions of that type have been booked, it will not show because all time slots of that session have already been filled. Check back at a later date, as session are continuously being added to our online booking site or call the studio.
I'm not seeing many appointments to book.
In order to accommodate all 2000+ seniors, we will open up appointments a couple weeks at a time in order to fill up our days as much as possible. Sessions may fill up more than a few weeks in advance, so don't wait to book! Remember, deadline is somewhere between October and November (depending on your school) so once sessions fill up, we cannot guarantee any time slots will be available prior to deadline, other than the "yearbook only" session done on campus (view campus dates here). We highly recommend booking as soon as possible to ensure you get a session before yearbook deadline.
What should I wear to my session?
Keep. it. Simple.
We recommend trying to avoid large prints or patterns that distract from your face. Solid colors tend to work best, but we know that everyone has their own style. Be you and wear what you are comfortable in!
Keep in mind that we are working together with your school and any clothing that is not in line with the school dress code may result in your yearbook selection being declined. Please call the studio if you have questions!
Can I change my session the day of?
Upgrading or downgrading of sessions on the day of the appointment is not permitted.
Please ensure you select the appropriate session package when booking.
What happens if I don't get an appointment before deadline?
Each student will get the opportunity to have a studio session, beginning July 10th and ending between October and November (depending on your school). Sessions fill up quickly so do not wait until October/November to book. If you do not make a studio appointment before deadline, you will have the opportunity to do your "yearbook only" session on campus, on select dates that will be announced by your school. In order to meet printing deadlines, no more sessions will be done after campus dates are completed.
How do I cancel my session?
Hall Photography has a 48-hour cancellation policy. To avoid any cancellation fees when canceling your session, please call our office or email us at Sales@hallphoto.net. When sending an email, be sure to include the student's first and last name as well as the school they attend. If you are calling on a weekend to cancel your session, you MUST leave a voicemail, or we cannot honor your cancellation and a fee will be applied.
When do I take Cap & Gown photos?
Cap & Gown sessions are done in the spring once you receive your cap & gown. We do not provide the cap & gown as we are unable to sanitize in between sessions and they are fitted by specific heights. If you would like the free of charge cap & gown session, booking will begin in March.
Fall Sessions vs. Spring Sessions
Fall sessions are required in order to have your photo appear in your school yearbook, done at our studio or on campus. These sessions are catered towards your yearbook selection, so you will have a majority of eye contact portraits rather than candid shots. Spring sessions will begin in March and give you the opportunity to go on location such as downtown Bakersfield, the Kern River, or even the beach! Spring sessions are done closer to graduation and are great for bringing your cap and gown and perfect for graduation announcements.
